     Status of women in India

            

India is a vast land covering country in south Asia which has the highest population status in the world at present. Earlier it was china having the largest population but now India has left it behind. In the growing and developing country, the status of women has increased professionally, socially and economically. Even the rural women are becoming independent and joining some sort of organizations or establishing rural committees where women gather and start some manufacturing or creative product business. Their products are getting fame and demand of their creativity is increasing because of governmental and NGO’s helping contribution for marketing in domestic and international markets. Their life and living standard have upgraded as their economic condition has improved. Women in India have developed a lot. In educational and professional fields, their interference is remarkable. They have established their potential ability and identity almost in every field.

Earlier times of life of Indian women described their dependence on men and limitations for moving out of home. Their life, in terms of today’s modern life, can be termed as slaved life. They were not allowed independently to move out of their homes. Education system was for male children only. Women life was a miserable life. Because of no education, they could not dream for professional life of their own. Their dreams, career, personal matters, had no meaning.  But, when we read Indian history, we come to know about brave Indian women warriors who fought bravely against Mughal invaders and English emperors. Those who attacked Indian states were defeated after a strong war fought by women queens. They were fully trained and their sharp warrior techniques were unbeatable. They killed brutal enemies easily and in a short time of battle. Indian history is full of brave women warriors whose names are remembered by all Indians with great respect and honour.

India is a land of great scholars and clerics. In every filed of life, women have been a great part of participation leaving remarks forever. In today’s Indian environment, women of India are placed almost in every professional life. Women, who cover the 50% part of population, are grabbing all those professional stages where men are used to work and reach. Women have all rights to work, study, decide for their own life. Their personal life also matters to them. But they have a great talent in comparison to men that they adjust their professional and home life together successfully and happily. Their sharp mindedness is expressed in their successful performance. Being stuck in heavy load of home and professional responsibilities, they have placed an honourable milestone of their success stories in the country. They have achieved the high and highest post of the government and private sectors undertaking companies where they are shaking hands with great appreciating growth and achievements.

All over these achievements, there is a dark side story about women in India. That is crime against women. Whether it is home based, social based, crime against women is a brutal truth in India. The cases of rapes, molestation, con against them are a matter of shame and stigma in the high developing societies of India. Women are both safe and also unsafe. They feel uncomfortable being in market or somewhere at public place. Although, the environment has changed so far but still the system of crimes against women is just not under control. The governments have been implementing new laws and policies for women safety, but the number of crimes happening are creating the unsafe clouds over them. The cheap and sick mentality of the criminals is out of laws and law fear. Why there is no safety for women still in such a strong and developing country, is a matter of big concern. Females are at high posts, more powerful, more independent, more educated, more admired, but still crimes against them shake the whole country. This should be a matter of big agendas of every government and women safety must be stubbornness and at first priority for every government and citizen. When women are safe, the whole country will take a sigh of comfortable relief. Safe women is the representation of safe society.
